Well Destruction

 We destroy and abandon many residential and agricultural wells throughout Sutter and Yuba Counties. All work is performed in full compliance with local county well-destruction ordinances and the California Well Standards, Bulletin 74-90.

Wells are destroyed for a variety of reasons. Some wells are no longer viable and must be abandoned before drilling a replacement well. Other wells need to be destroyed prior to connecting a property to city water, or to obtain permits for specific projects.

We use specialized tooling that allows us to cut the steel well casing five feet below grade without the need for an excavator or backhoe. When required, we also have a backhoe available to expose and cut exterior conductor casing. Our well-destruction process typically includes pumping cement slurry to properly seal and abandon the well in accordance with both county and state requirements.

Once the destruction is completed, we haul away the old pumping equipment and cut casing, and we thoroughly clean up the job site.
